Welcome to Year 5
2022-23
Year 5 Term 3 Art Project
As per the newsletter, here are the photographs of the children working away on their tote bags!
The children blended and mixed different colours together to produce some spectacular colours and all helped each other at the end of the day.
We even had some Bob Ross videos playing in the background as some inspiration for the children (and to keep the room calm and relaxing).
Let's see what next term has in-store for the Year 5 class!
Year 5 History Lesson 02.02.23
Today in Year 5, we were looking at how the Vikings managed to sail across the North Sea to raid England.
The children were given some oars, a mast, a sail and a rudder to create their own longboat. They even made up a prow and a figurehead!
The class really enjoyed putting this boat together. They learnt a lot about the main features of these magnificent boats and we even had Matthew trying to call out "FORWARD!" to the rest of the children using the oars to make them row all at the same time!
Year 5 have been learning about the plant life cycle and their features. During our science lesson we dissected lilies to identify all the different parts of the flower and laid them out onto our piece of paper. Each part was labelled with our key scientific words we had learnt. Some of these included the stigma, stamen, ovary, ovule, and pollen!
