Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

In Year 3, your child has made the smooth transition from key stage one, ready to become a more confident, resilient and independent learner in key stage two. I am so proud of how each of our children have come back to school ready to engage in learning, show kindness to their peers and show resilience in their new curriculum.

We strive to ensure that each of our children can come into school each day with confidence, knowing they are walking into a safe, caring environment. We also want to ensure that this environment is set up to achieve each child's best, through our broad, well-planned curriculum, encouraging each child to be stimulated, challenged and enthusiastic about their learning.

In order to support this from home it is important to us that children arrive on time every day, ready to start another day of learning. This will ensure that children are able to appropriately follow their curriculum, making links with prior learning, and exploring what is to come. We want our children to take pride in their learning!

If you ever have any concerns, worries or something you'd like to share, please do not hesitate to speak to me at the end of the day, or book a meeting through the office. I would always love to chat!

PE Days for Year 3 (Term 1)

We have PE on a Monday and a Friday.

Please ensure that your child has the correct PE kit with them for these days.

Correct PE Kit: white polo shirt, dark shorts, black trainers or daps/plimsolls

Reading

Please listen to your child read at home at least 3 days a week, making sure you record this in their reading record. This will encourage them to work towards their bronze certificate for home reading!

Please ensure their reading record and book is brought into school each day (this means they can read with an adult in school and get their books changed).
