Hello Year 3!
This is our last week of learning online before welcoming you all back in to the classroom. I cannot wait to see you all myself and Mrs. Sharples have missed you so much!
This week, Grammar and English will be merged. I have set a Grammar objective for you to work towards in each paragraph of you Wishing tale story. This is to help you for when you return as our English and Grammar lesson will be as one when you return, the rest will be as normal.
Enjoy this last week of working from home and have a restful weekend ready to return on Monday - we all cannot wait to catch up with you!
Reminder: Please email your online reading record by Friday to y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk
Have a great week and I will see you very soon!
Miss Thomas :)
Hello!
I hope you are all safe and well and have had a lovely half-term! I can't wait to have you all back and it's going to be very soon by the sounds of things!
In the meantime, I am still going to be uploading learning for you on our class page. The structure is exactly the same as last term, with Maths, Grammar and Reading uploaded daily and English and Topic weekly with an activity per day.
I hope you all enjoy learning this week, especially our new topic!
See you all very soon!
Miss Thomas :)
Hello Year 3!
It is our final week of learning before half-term, I cannot believe how fast it has gone! I'm so proud of you all. Whether you are in school, or at home for adapting to this new way of learning at the moment. It was also lovely to see some of you on our live class meet up last week!
There is only going to be 4 days worth of work this week as we have an inset day on Friday. Although, I would like to set you a task; do something fun! You deserve it.
Can I just remind parents in regards to reading records, these need to be emailed to me every Friday so I can look at how your child has been getting on with their current book and tick of their reads towards the home reading challenge. Please do not move your child onto another book unless I have confirmed, I am not able to do this unless I have the digital copy of the reading record.
If you have any queries please email: y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk
Enjoy this week!
Miss Thomas :)
Hi Year 3,
I cannot believe it is now week 5! You have all adapted to this new style of learning so well and I am very impressed with all of the work you are producing.
As normal, Maths, Grammar and Reading are going to be uploaded daily. English and Curriculum are uploaded with the weeks learning.
In English and Reading, this week, we are going to be looking at non-fiction based texts which I know you all enjoyed last time!
Reading at home
You are now set up with reading at home. I would just like to remind you that the reading records I emailed out on Friday last week need to be emailed back to me every Friday. This then allows me to look at how your child is getting on at home with their reading and move your child onto the next book when appropriate to do so.
Please email: y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk if you need any help or support or have any questions.
Many thanks for all of your support, you are all doing a fantastic job!
Have a great week,
Miss Thomas
Hi Year 3,
I hope you are all safe and well and have a restful weekend, after working so hard; those of you at home and in school! I have especially enjoyed reading your innovations of the Stone Troll. I cannot wait to read your warning tales when you write them this week.
Additionally, this week now Times Table rock stars is back up and running, I'd like you to start logging in daily and practicing. If you don't know your login please email: y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk and I will send it over.
I hope you have another great week learning, we are all missing you!
Miss Thomas :)
Hello Year 3,
Thank you for emailing all of your work this week, I have really enjoyed looking at it and I can see you are all working hard from home. Well done everyone I am impressed.
Here is your learning for week 3. As normal, I will be uploading Maths, Grammar and Reading daily. English and Curriculum have been uploaded for the week with an activity today.
Grammar is going to be slightly different now as I think it would be a good idea to revisit Phase 6 in Phonics. Your grammar activities are going to be based around this. It's going to help with our Spellings, knowledge of the English language, Reading and Handwriting.
Please ensure you email y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk daily with work so I can respond and feedback, or answer any questions you may have.
I hope you have another great week of learning at home and I can't wait for you to return to school when it is safe to do so.
Many thanks,
Miss Thomas :)
Hello Year 3,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Here is week 2 of your home learning where I will again be uploading English and Curriculum weekly (with a task to complete each day) and Grammar, Maths and Reading daily.
I would just like to highlight the expectations of sending in work. Please can all work be sent by the end of the day so I can respond and feedback to help inform the following day/weeks planning. All work is to be sent to y3@chesteton.gloucs.sch.uk I am then able to respond and also answer any questions you may have.
If you are having trouble with accessing any of the work please email and I will sort an alternative out for you.
Pease let me know if there is anything else I can do to support the children at home.
Many thanks,
Miss Thomas :)
Home learning
Hello Year 3!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and enjoyed the Christmas holidays.
This is where I will be uploading your home learning, I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see what you get up to! Please email all work to: y3@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk at the end of every day, where I will be able to respond to give feedback and answer any questions you may have.
I have set up a weekly folder below where there will be folders containing the subjects we cover. I will be uploading English and Curriculum work weekly and Maths, Reading and Grammar daily. In each folder I will either give a break down in a word document of what needs to be done or there will be a Power Point where I either recorded myself teaching the aspect of learning or talking through it. I hope this is helpful!
I will also put our weekly spellings in the grammar folder for you to learn at home.
Stay safe and I can't wait to see you when you return to school!
Thank you,
Miss Thomas :)

Hello everyone!
As half-term is approaching I thought for this weeks tasks it would be better to start uploading tasks over the next few days for the children to complete over half term (I know they are very tired!).
We have an exciting new topic coming up, which I will be giving more information on very soon!
I have started to send home some timetables packs for the children after our discussions at parents evening. I am just putting together another one for the children to take home for half term as we are starting to look at our 3,4 and 8 times tables when we return for Term 2.
Thank you for your support during Term 1 and thank you Year 3 for making my first term at Chesterton so enjoyable! You have all been great and worked extremely hard.
Miss Thomas :)

Hello!
Welcome to Year 3's class page.
We have had a really busy start to term 1 in Year 3 and are settling in so well.
We've been learning lots of exciting things, especially in our topic Predators!
I would be grateful if you could continue the learning from school at home with the children as much as possible. (This is by no means compulsory)
Below I have set up folder for each of our curriculum subjects, each week I will add an activity for the children to complete. If the work produced from the activity comes back in with spelling books on Friday I would be extremely grateful!
Miss Thomas
