Hello everyone.
I hope you all had a wonderful half term. We are all so excited to see that the class will be back together soon. For the next 2 weeks we will continue to post home learning on the website. Please do let me know if there is anything that would support you further. This term I have arranged the home learning page slightly differently and have tried to add additional resources and activities to support you at home. Please do not feel you have to complete all of these. I have added a suggested timetable below for those that would like additional support. In reception we revisit phonics throughout the day, with this in mind I will upload the phonics PowerPoint for you to share again at home and have also added some specific writing activities to develop the children's letter formation.
Following feedback I have added additional challenges to the math PowerPoint, please let me know how your child finds this at home. I will include enough curriculum resources for the week, however, please do make use of the outdoor activities folder and PE sections. Now more than ever it is important that children have time outdoors and engaged in physical activity. I am looking forward to seeing you all for phonics at 9:30
Below is a timetable to support those of you that would like support when planning home learning. We know every family situation is different and many of you may of already established routines that work for you, if so please do not worry, this is only a guide aimed to support those that would find further support helpful. Thank you to everyone who is doing a great job to support their children at home. I have loved seeing all of the wonderful photo's that you have uploaded to Tapestry and look forward to working closely with you and your children while continuing to celebrate their many wonderful achievements throughout the following terms.

Home Learning
Hello!
Happy New Year, I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!
I am Mrs Swinford and I will be teaching Reception.
Here on the website is where you will find your home learning. I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see what you get up to!
I will be uploading English and Curriculum activities weekly, but you will find a task for each day. Please upload each daily task to your child's Tapestry profile.
I will be uploading Maths and Phonics daily. For Maths you will need this link (https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b08bzfnh/numberblocks) taking you to watch Numberblocks. I will tell you each day which episode to watch. There will be a powerpoint for Maths and Phonics with voice overs talking through the learning and telling you the task for the day. Please also upload these tasks to your child's Tapestry profile. I hope this is helpful!
If you have any questions please email: YearR@chesterton.gloucs.sch.uk where I will be able to respond.
Stay safe and I can't wait to meet you all when you return to school!
Thank you,
Mrs Swinford :)
Hello,
Welcome to Reception Class at Chesterton.
We have had a busy half term so far settling into school life, making new friends and learning the routines of the day.
In Phonics, we have learnt the sounds s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d and g so far. The class are doing very well at remembering the songs to go with each sound and we are working on our letter formation every day.
In English, we started with the Owl Babies story. We learnt all the actions to accompany the story and made our own masks for retelling, also drawing our first story maps!
Over the past 2 weeks, we moved onto Non-Fiction which involved creating our own set of instructions. We started with bird feeders, then squirrel muffins. We visited Forest School on Friday to make our own dreys for the squirrels and hide the muffins we'd made.
Please see the photographs below for a snippet of what we have been upto in Reception.
Thank you,
Miss Baggott and Mrs Carter.
