Reading

At the moment we haven't got reading books at home, but I know most of the children do read at home. In reading lessons we focus on the comprehension of a text. 

We follow specific questions to ensure we widen our understanding of the text.

V - vocabulary

I - inference (Please try and focus on this one as much as possible) 

P - predict 

E - explain

R - retrieve 

S - summarise 

I have attached the question stems the children cover in class. It would be really helpful if you could ask these alongside listening to them read!

It would also be great if you could cover a range of both fiction and non-fiction books with the children if possible.
