Below you will find a guide for early writing in Reception.

Please take a look, this will help you to see examples of what your child's writing might currently look like. It is important that we allow the children to move through the stages and sound out their words using the sounds they know.

For example the word 'quick' may look like this 'cwik'. This is called phonetically plausible, and your child has used the sounds they know to sound out the word, which is fantastic!
